“Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts.” ~ ‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭2:22‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The new year is upon us, a new year for growth, wisdom, challenge, and change. I've been thinking so very hard about what I want from this year. And it seems that 2017 will be a year packed with hard work and sacrifices to reach those goals. The one thing I desire most in this year is a reconnected and deeper relationship with God.

Since I gave birth to my beautiful boys it seems that I have been so far away from Him. And while I know that He knew his would happen I am sad that it did. I thirst so much for him but it seems almost impossible to set aside a moment to spend with Him.

However nothing worth anything comes without hard work. So this year I have decided my word for the year will be P U R S U E. It's my desire to pursue God as he pursues me daily, it's my desire to pursue peace both inward and outward, it's my desire to pursue health, and it's my desire to purse adventures to make memories with my family.

I'm excited to share more about how this word changes the course of my New Year. It's 2017, we've been so blessed to be chosen to see it. Happy New Year!

What word have you chosen for his year?!

  1. My dearest, Charity! I can so relate to this post. Not because of the duties, responsibilities, and happenings of a wife/mom of two, but other things like grad school, new job, and the other stuff. So many times it has felt like everything else is in control of my schedule, but I have to make sure that the most important One gets His time and not my leftovers. May this year be a restoration for the both of us. xoxo

p.s. Thank you again for reaching out to me. I missed you so much.

  2. Girl I can relate! I've started a prayer journal. Unfortunately I haven't done it everyday but that's my goal. The Lord is so faithful and He knows where you are at and He is pursuing you. My words for this year is faith and trust. For some reason I've been hearing a lot of messages on faith. I think God is trying to tell me something :-) keep writing!
