One Resolution A Month

Hey there, lovelies! 
I'm so excited to be taking over Charity's wonderful blog today! She is such a sweet and beautiful blogger, and I'm so flattered that she let me contribute to this lovely space of hers.

I'm Jayda, and I blog over at Avocado Grove, where I ramble on about my husband and our shenanigans, my faith, food and clothes, and my sweet puppy, Max (that's not him in the picture; that's another puppy I love. Basically, all dogs are my best friend.) I would absolutely love to meet you, so stop by and say "hi!"

SInce we're right in the middle of the Christmas/New Years season, I thought that I'd share a few of my New Year's goals with you. I've already shared some over on my blog, but I've been adding to the list, and I thought that this would be a good time to share some more!

1) Teach my dog new tricks. Of course it's dog related. I wasn't lying about my crazy dog lady-ness! I'm sad to say that the little guy has made it two years without learning to roll over. We just can't have that! 

2) Join a gym. I almost hate that this is on my list, since it's so typical, but I really am more motivated to work out when I've invested money in it. I hate wasting money. Plus, I keep telling myself that I'll still run in the winter, even though it hasn't happened once. It's time to start actually doing something!

3) Set aside a specific night as "date night." My husband and I are actually really good at dating each other, even after three years of marriage (yes, I am a bit proud of that!) Still though, we find that when we don't set apart specific time for it, it doesn't always happen. We've always talked about setting a night once a week aside just for us, but up until this year, we both had kind of sporadic schedules. Now that we have most weeknights free, we can choose a night for our dates. And that's exactly what we intend to do!

4) Try a new healthy recipe once a week. Because it's good to try new things. And because I'm getting a little tired of the same old recipes we keep eating! (If you have any suggestions, feel free to let me know!)

5) Make some blog goals. I have a blog. And I love it. But I've never really decided where I want to take it; so far it's kind of a lifestyle/personal/whenever I have time blog, but I'd like to decide if it's something I'd like to work on growing for a specific purpose, or just something to have as a hobby and a way to document my life.

I mentioned on my blog that last year I made one resolution for every month. That's something I'd love to do again this year, but I have a few goals that are all-year necessary as well (here's to growing out my bangs!) I'm thinking of starting January off with that gym membership and going from there. I'm really excited about 2014, and I can't wait to start making these goals happen!

  1. I also have the resolution to try a new (healthier) recipe a week. I was looking at my pinterest board the other day and if I don't start trying them and weeding through them, I'm going to have 10,000! lol!
