Thankfulness: The Love Story edition

I am thankful our love story.

I am thankful for a brave husband who wasn't afraid to commit and make the vows.

I am thankful for my 18 year old heart that fell head over heels in love, when my 18 year old head thought otherwise.

I am thankful that my husband is one of the most patient people I know. He puts up with more of my shenanigans, tantrums, and flippy lips than anyone else.

I am thankful for being married to my perfect mate. He's definitely not perfect because none of us are but he's perfect for me.

I am thankful that my mom was able to identify a man with potential and that she allowed him to have my hand in marriage.

I am grateful for my in laws even though they aren't who I would have chosen, they challenge me to love according to God's standards and not my own.

I am thankful that my first love story was a home run. God saved me from heartbreak.

I am thankful for marriage because it has brought me down off my pedestal and showed me that I've got a lot of work to do.

I am thankful for the bad times in our marriage because without them I wouldn't be able to identify the good ones.

I am thankful Burger King. It was close to our job so Mr.FixIt was able to speak my love language (acts of service), he brought or took me to lunch just about everyday.

I am thankful for that two door stick shift Honda that my husband was driving when we met. My heart would skip a beat every time I heard it driving up to my house. It's a sound I will never forget.

I am thankful for friendship, without it I would have never known he was the one.

I am thankful for perseverance. My husband had it when I rejected him all those years ago and I am glad he still has it today because it's a quality that strengthens our marriage.

I am thankful for a love that let's me put my cold feet on his warm body when we go to sleep.

I am thankful for a man who has shown me what a gentle leader really is.

I am thankful for Jason, the guy in the meat department at Publix. If it wasn't for his abrasive filter less lips I am not sure Mr.Fixit would have ever had the courage to approach me.

I am thankful for a man of tradition. I appreciate that my husband sees value in me even without a steady paycheck. Hehe!

I am thankful for my God who gave me none of what I asked or wanted in a mate - he instead gave me all of what I needed.

I am thankful that I have finally learned to be thankful for how these things worked out.

I am thankful that our love story exists.

Your Turn: This is the month for thankfulness, so tell me what you are thankful for. Tell me something you are thankful for in a relationship - it doesn't have to be a romantic one.

  1. Beautiful!! I'm thankful for being able to study the subject of my choice and enjoying it every. single. day more :) I'm thankful for God, who doesn't let me slip away from Him and His love. I'm thankful for his workings in me: I feel good the way I am and don't try to change for others anymore. Thank you for reminding me of being thankful! Hope you have an amazing day! <3

  5. I love this! Especially this- I am thankful for the bad times in our marriage because without them I wouldn't be able to identify the good ones.

The hard times make the good times that much better. As we struggle through the rough patches in our lifes currently I know that there are good things comining. All of the hard stuff has taught me to appreciate the little things so much more.
