Happy Labor Day folks. A few weeks ago I shared a Q&A vlog with random things about me. This week my sweet bloggy pal Sarah shared some random facts about herself (hopefully today will be a real Labor Day for you Sarah), then Amberly answered some question and invited her readers to do the same. I am officially hopping on the bandwagon because I have a few new bloggy friends. I think this would be the perfect opportunity for you all to get to know more about me - and if you are interested you can do your own post so I can learn more about you too.

What's your favorite thing about where you live? My favorite thing about where I live is the hustle and bustle, the liveliness. There is something about living a city that brings about excitement. I love that there is always something to do and new people to meet. It's a huge melting pot of people from all walks of life and I really enjoy that.

What are 3 things you are grateful for? I am grateful for family/friends, faith and food.

What is the story behind your blog name? I came up with The Word of A Nerd because I thought of my blog as a column in a newspaper and of course I was the nerd that was writing it - no really exciting story, no bells and whistles. If you want to know more about why I started blogging read this post.

What is one think you'd like to learn? I would love to learn Italian. I am currently working on learning Hindi and I thought I could do them both at the same time but it's been a real challenge.

What does your ideal day look like? My ideal day involves baking, cooking, blogging, reading, and relaxing with my sweet husband. A bonus would be sitting in a recliner thumbing through an IKEA catalog like I was doing below.

When are you at your best? I am at my best when I am with the people that I love. Especially when I am with my husband - he's totally my best friend. He bring out my playful and adventurous side.

If you could meet any blogger in person, who would you choose? This question is totally hard to answer because I have a few people I would love to meet. I'll narrow it down to three - I would choose to meet my Caroline from In Due Time. Just from what I have learned about her personality and love for Christ lets me know we'd be fast friends. Also I have a little blogging sister Haley from Housel Happenings she's super sweet and I know we would be able to talk about anything. Chelsea from Anchors Aweigh she cooks a lot like me. We would be great neighbors and our husbands would be huge from eating all the foods we'd cook.

Which blogs are you loving right now? Oh wow there are so many. Mostly new blogs and a few I have been reading for a while, here is my list in no particular order.

Tell us something we don't know about you. I was diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and took medicines for a year and a half. I hated the way the medicine made me feel and wanted to quit. I started attending a new church and as my relationship with Christ grew my need for the medicine vanished. I still deal with some aspects of the disorder but it does not control my life.

Favorite piece of jewelry other than your wedding/engagement ring and why? I have two pair of earrings that are near and dear to me, both earrings make me think of Baby Fixit. One pair was gifted to me by my mother, they used to be her earrings. They are simple small gold hoop earrings that I would love to pass down one day. The second pair are glamorous stud earrings that were given to me by Chelsea, she sent them right after I came out of the closet. A small token of friendship and a reminder that I was not alone in my struggle. I am wearing the earrings from Chelsea in the photo below.

Who inspires you? In everyday life my mother inspires me. She is a woman of love. There is not a single soul that I can think of that she has hate for she seriously even loves her enemies. She is an awesome forgiver and I want to be more like her because she truly loves like Christ.

What is your favorite family tradition? My favorite family tradition is when all the women in my family get together to prepare a holiday meal. I love having the oldest to the youngest woman in the kitchen spreading the love through a hearty meal.

Who do you admire most as a blogger and why? In blog land Kalyn, Rebecca, and Caroline inspire me. All of these women love Christ and care so much for others. Just from reading their blogs I am encouraged to be a better woman and to fully submit my life to Christ.

Is this how you imagined your life would be? Not in a million years but I am totally okay with that. I always thought my life would be like this.

Show us your favorite picture and explain why you love it. The photo below is of my friends holding their daughter, my goddaughter who they adopted after battling infertility for many years. It's a precious moment and an answered prayer - I am grateful that God allowed me to witness the miracle. I feel blessed to have been the photographer capturing this moment. Oh and this photo is a glimpse of my work.

How did your blog come about? I started blogging totally by accident. I had tried blogging two other times before and failed miserably. I talk all about how I started blogging and why it worked out the third time here.

What do you love about yourself? Physically, I love my hair and my smile. Spiritually, I love that I am compassionate, loving, and friendly.

If money were no question, I'd purchase the buildings for the Christ Fellowship campuses that are operating out of satellite locations. I would also take a year off and travel the world visiting India, Italy, France, Japan, the Philippines, New Zealand, Australia, Bali and so many more.

What's your biggest struggle in life? This is my biggest struggle in life. I will overcome it but as I continue to wait I am enjoying all the beautiful people I am meeting and relationships that are forming along the way.

Name something you have learned that surprised you. Our left lung is smaller than our right to make room for our hearts, makes me think of how detailed our Creator is. The space between our eyebrows is called the Glabella, I didn't realized they had a name for it. Honey is easy to digest because it's already been predigested by a honey bee, eww. All three of these facts make me laugh.

I hope you enjoyed this post. I would love to learn something about you. Answer some of the questions in the comments below or link me to your own post.

Bonus Question for you: What singer/band reminds you of your childhood or teen years? I bet you'd never guess which ones were my favorites.
