Thursday Thankfulness

12 September 2013

I am wiped out from all that I have going on this week. These are the times when I usually want to moan, groan, and complain about how hard life has been. But honestly I am so blessed I can hardly stand it. My life is far from perfect and there are days that I want to scream about the things in life that I don't understand - yet in still I have so much to be thankful for. God is showing me his favor and that means more than any bad day or bad week.

I have committed to focusing on all that has been going right and not what's going wrong. So I just wanted to share with you what I am thankful for this week.

Great weather, the Fall weather is already descending upon the city. It's been cooler just about every morning and cool weather makes for ideal shooting temperatures.

Friendships. I have found friends in just about every crevice of life. Who'd have thought there was this huge community of women on Instagram experiencing the same struggles as me. I am also thankful for the women I have connected with in blog world - it's amazing how God provides what we need even in the way of friendships. So many of you are dealing with infertility, finding your identity, marriage struggles, depression, growing your faith or knowing your worth and I just want to thank you for allowing your hearts to minister to mine. Even if we are in different seasons in life the lessons are the same.

Bread, I posted about the Hard Dough Bread yesterday and my hubby promptly reminded me that he was out. So I made two loaves for him, I must say I thoroughly enjoy the smell of freshly baked bread. Almost as much as I love the smell of freshly baked cake.

Marriage. I can honestly say I know that marriage was the one thing I did right in my life. I am so grateful to God for sending me an amazingly selfless husband who inspires me to be a better woman, wife, and Christian.

PSL. That's right the pumpkin spice latte made it on this list. I have not had the chance to taste it this season because it doesn't come in a sugar free option. Smelling it will have to do for the next few weeks until my clean eating is done.

Journals, there are times when I have so much on my brain that I would need an army of people to tell it all to. Thankfully I have been dumping the contents of my brain out in my journal each day, it's been really helpful.

Prayers, I am so glad for the people that keep me lifted in their prayers. I can feel the tremendous amount of strength coming from the Holy Spirit all because people have been faithfully praying for me.

Snuggles. After shooting and editing I am glad to snuggle up with my hubby at the end of the day, and physical touch is not even my love language.

A course in love. I have been studying about loving like Christ and becoming a woman who loves. I may be in the remedial class on love but that's okay God is truly working on me and I am finding the root of my issues so I can bear the fruit of the Spirit in love.

It's your turn what are you thankful for today?

  1. I have so much to be thankful for - but today we received raises and while they are only 44 cents- they are raises and there are so many people who would consider themselves blessed with any raise at all- so I choose to be one of those people. Any raise is a blessing and I am thankful for it!

  2. Yesterday I had an awesome bible study with an a amazing group of people. I am super thankful for all of them! We talked about grace and I am so thankful for God's grace. We learned this and I just have to pass it along: G.R.A.C.E. God's Riches At Christ's Expense. Have you heard that? I just love it.

So basically, I'm just feeling thankful in general today. :-)

  4. There is so much to be thankful for. You're right. I just heard in church today about how the enemy can blind us from seeing all that is good in our lives for looking at the other stuff or other people's stuff (i.e. the grass is greener). Truth is, sometimes we have some pretty good grass ourselves. LOL I've been shortsighted of that lately, so needless to say, I really appreciate the reminder in this list of thankfulness.

I'm thankful for "second chances" (which really are way more than that).
I'm thankful that my cousin received a heart this morning.
I'm thankful for the opportunity to tell you what I'm thankful about. :-)
