Friday Faves Faithful Edition

13 September 2013

This Friday I just wanted to share with you all some of my most inspiring songs this week. Several days ago one of my friends who I met on Instagram sent me a beautiful care package. We have only been friends for a few months and I am astonished at how well she knows me, seriously the package had all of my favorite things in it. But of all things I have to say the CD was by far my favorite. She titled the CD "tunes while you wait". There are 18 songs and they truly inspire me to stay faithful as I wait for God to bless me with my heart's desire. If you have been reading this blog for a while you know I don't talk much about the things that I am waiting for but that doesn't mean it doesn't cross my mind or that I don't struggle with it. I am learning a very long lesson in patience and trust which is truly helping me to grow my faith.

My favorite song from the CD is called Something Beautiful. One of the verses says "I am waiting for something beautiful." I am awaiting a beautiful child from God, but while I have been waiting I have been blessed with this amazing experience of closeness with God, new friends, sisters in Christ and so much more.

The next song is called While I'm Waiting. This song talks about putting your hope in the Lord even when it's painful. Most of all it reminds us to worship God while we are waiting for whatever it is that we asked. We have to praise God whether the weather is fair or not.

The third and last song is called You are for me. Now I have always enjoyed Kari Jobe's music but this one has been on repeat day and night when I am listening to Spotify. Sometimes trials make you feel so alone as if God really is not hearing you at all. However we know that is not true, God is on our side helping us to grow and be strengthened during difficult times. I wrote about what our tears mean to God here.

So I have shared a few of my friday faves. Tell me what songs help remind you of God's faithfulness while inspiring you to keep going when things are rough? If you don''t have a particular song leave me your favorite scripture for those crazy days.

Lastly I am linking up with Aimee for Finding Beauty Friday. The image above is the beauty that I found this week. Please link up whatever you found beautiful and tag @dearharperblog.

  1. Charity - you always help bring back my faith and keep my hopes high. I too have been waiting for something that I have been praying for over a year now and sometimes I wonder if this is just fate or if God is trying to show me the wonderful things along the way before I get my prayer answered. Honestly I think I stumbled upon your blog a while back on purpose...so you can always remind me of the beautiful flowers along the path while I wait! :) THANK YOU!
