Faithful Friday: Baptism

09 August 2013

Hey Lovelies. I just wanted to share my re-baptism story with you all. I hope you will watch this quick vlog and relive that moment with me.

In my re-baptized I buried my self salvation project and reaffirmed that I cannot save myself, only Jesus can do that.

I also reaffirmed that through His death Jesus brings life to His people.

I affirmed that baptism is a means of grace which I am in need of.

What's your baptism story? Did your own faith lead you to it or were you baptized as a child?

  1. I like you. A lot. I am not a very religious person, and normally I don't like discussing it, but I love your story of being re-baptized. I was baptized 10 years ago when my oldest was just an infant on Mothers Day. I have thought of doing it again because I am actually starting to lose my faith. Just a little. And you have inspired me to start looking into it and finding a church I can trust and love.

    xoxo Happy Friday :)

  2. I loved the vlog! And I struggle with re-baptism also! I was raised Catholic where you only have the one baptism when you are a baby. So now, I feel the tugging also, but am so nervous about it. Thank you for sharing this!

  3. well aren't you just the cutest thing ever. Love love loved this!! The whole baptism story - amazing, so glad God led you on that path!!! My husband had a dream the other day about getting baptized, which we feel like what from the Lord, so we have been discussing this too - this was so encouraging to hear, so happy for you sweet girl!

  4. You made me cry tears of joy, again. I'm overjoyed that you publicly reaffirmed your love for Jesus and your faith in Him. Also I'm happy that you are being a light for other Christians to follow. Matthew 5:14-16 says, “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Your rebaptism was another proud moment in my life. I love you and I'm so proud that God chose me to be your mother.

  5. Awh Charity! This is just so amazing! I am so glad you got the actual baptism filmed. It is so beautiful.

I've been really thinking/praying about doing the same. Especially because I feel like I never really decided to follow Christ whole-heartedly until three years ago. Now that we have been going to this new church, it's been really resonating with me that I need to reaffirm my faith.

  6. I think this is just such an affirmation of faith. I rarely speak about my religious beliefs with anyone other than my mom and so it shocks me that I could be so free and open with you as a 'stranger' I feel like I know you and you give me so much hope that I can find this kind of faith and belief again. I'd love to get baptized again, now that I actually know what it means, but I haven't found a church that accurately represents my beliefs, that I love and feel secure in, so I hope I do find one. Your church seems so nice! It was also refreshing to hear your voice. I feel like a vlog was the perfect thing to do for this, rather than a full on blog post, it made it so much more personal.

  7. Such a great video and you made me well up with tears watching your baptism video and hearing you say what the re-baptism meant to you. you put it so eloquently into words!
I too was a blubbering mess with my baptism and it was in May just gone this year (got the video too) but it was such a moment where everything just feels so strong and so so right! that I had it come into my head two weeks before I did it and knew I had to do it but waited. Then at church that sunday after waking up and thinking about getting baptised again, church announced the following sunday they were doing water baptisms. Signed up there and then! A lovely feeling of affirmation.
So thank you for sharing it - you are a fantastic speaker too and nice to hear your voice :) xx
